Converted Record Lathe

What a Record:

It was once a Record CL2! Headstock with 3 phase, 2HP motor, hand wheel and vacuum chuck

Hand wheel with indexing

Indexing pin and replacement top cover knob

Cam-Lock toolrest.  This took hours to make but really is 'one-handed' in operation

Electronic motor control panel.  Speeds from a few RPM to 6,200 RPM

Tailstock revolving centre with
MDF 'auto extraction' ring

Vacuum take-off.  Headstock spindle is 'bored out'

The vacuum chuck - a real sucker!

All in use with Mk1 vac chuck.
Note: I'm turning at the rear of the lathe

The vacuum pump, gauge and filters. Very quiet running and pulls 25"mg all day long

The tool station holds practically everything needed.  Handles (2 with keyless chucking) and all gouges - none fitted with handles!
Note: The work station was great but space dictated that it had to go and wall boards have provided replacement.
